Det här programmet är till för att hantera turneringsspel inom olika typer av idrotter. Programmet har funktioner för att registrera/ta bort turneringar, lägga in/ta bort spelare och matcher, samt för att lägga in/nollställa matchresultat. Givetvis kan du, när du så önskar, se den aktuella tabellen för respektive turnering. I programmet finns också en funktion för att generera matchprogram för turneringen som du arbetar med.
I den här versionen av Tävla enklare gör programmet skillnad mellan små och stora bokstäver. Det här gäller för så väl användare, turneringar som spelare. Det kan alltså finnas två användare med namnen "Kalle" och "kalle". Det kan också finnas två olika turneringar som heter "Kalles Cup" respektive "Kalles cup".
De tävlingsregister som skapas med den här versionen av Tävla enklare kan anpassas utifrån olika förutsättningar. Av den här anledningen är det inte säkert att just du kan använda alla registrets funktioner. Tävla enklare gör det möjligt för programadministratörer att välja om användare ska kunna registrera sig själva eller inte, samt att reglera vilka användare som ska ha möjlighet att registrera turneringar. Jag beskriver det här mer utförligt i nästa avsnitt, "Registrering av turneringar", samt i avsnittet "Registrering och avregistrering".
För att du ska kunna registrera nya turneringar måste du ha fått befogenhet att göra detta av en programadministratör. Tävlingsregistret kan konfigureras så att användare som registrerar sig själva automatiskt får tillåtelse att registrera turneringar. Programadministratörer kan dock välja vilka befintliga användare som ska ha möjlighet att registrera turneringar, oberoende om den här inställningen är aktiverad eller inte. Om du har fått befogenhet att registrera turneringar finns länken "Registrera en ny turnering" i menyn högst upp på sidan.
När du ska registrera en ny turnering ska du ange namnet på turneringen, och hur många set som matcherna i turneringen maximalt kan omfattas av. OBS! Om matcherna i turneringen inte har set ska du ange det maximala antalet set till noll. Det finns en viktig skillnad mellan ensetsmatcher och "nollsetsmatcher": ensetsmatcher kan inte bli oavgjorda. I Tävla enklare kan man ange siffran noll genom att lämna fältet tomt. Det här gäller för övrigt i alla sammanhang där siffror ska anges i programmet.
Observera att två turneringar som registreras i samma tävlingsregister inte kan ha samma namn. I den här versionen av Tävla enklare finns det ingen funktion för att hantera olika typer av matcher i samma turnering. Du kan alltså inte ange att vissa matcher spelas över bäst av ett set, medan andra matcher kan vara femsetsmatcher. Om du exempelvis vill registrera en sådan turnering måste du göra två olika turneringar; en för ensetsmatcher, och en för femsetsmatcher. Det finns inte heller någon funktion i programmet för att hantera gruppspel i de registrerade turneringarna. Om du vill registrera en turnering som spelas i grupper måste du registrera en turnering för varje grupp. Om du vill slumpa fram vilka spelare som ska tillhöra respektive grupp kan du se turneringens tabell innan du har lagt in några matchresultat. I det här läget har alla inlagda spelare samma poängantal, vilket innebär att placeringen slumpas fram. Du kan sedan lägga upp gruppspelet utifrån den här slumpningen.
När du har kommit så här långt är det dags för att beskriva turneringens poängsystem. Nu ska du ange det antal poäng som den vinnande respektive den förlorande spelaren ska få vid respektive setskillnad. Om reglerna för en turnering innebär att poängskillnaden är den samma oavsett setskillnaden måste du av säkerhetsskäl ändå ange den här poängskillnaden för varje setskillnad som kan uppstå. Om du har angett att matcherna i turneringen inte ska innehålla några set ska du också ange det antal poäng som båda spelarna ska få i samband med matcher som slutar oavgjort. Poängantalen för turneringarnas regelsystem kan antingen skrivas som heltal eller som decimaltal. Decimaltecknet kan antingen skrivas med ett kommatecken (,), eller med en punkt (.). även negativa tal är tillåtna.
Efter det att du har registrerat turneringen visas turneringens grundläggande inställningar ytterligare en gång, så att du har möjlighet att se att du har skrivit in rätt värden. I det här skedet kan du dock inte ångra dig, så om du vill gå tillbaka och göra förändringar som rör poängsystemet måste du ta bort turneringen och registrera en ny turnering, med samma namn.
Att arbeta med spelare, matcher och matchresultat i en turnering är inga konstigheter. Precis som i fallet med turneringar kan inte två spelare som deltar i samma turnering ha samma namn. Observera att när du tar bort en spelare ur en turnering tas hans eller hennes matcher bort automatiskt. Det här innebär att dessa matcher i fortsättningen inte kommer att tas i beräkning när turneringens tabell visas. När du lägger in matcher kan en spelare givetvis inte spela mot sig själv :) I programmet finns en funktion för att generera ett spelprogram för en turnering utifrån de spelare som är inlagda när själva matchprogrammet skapas. Observera att gamla matcher som finns inlagda innan det att spelordningen genereras inte kommer att tas bort. Det är även möjligt att lägga in fler matcher när det första matchprogrammet är genererat, så väl "manuellt" som genom att generera ett nytt matchprogram. Matchprogrammet kan genereras i så väl raka som vändande serier. Det finns även möjlighet att ordna spelarna i slumpmässig ordning innan genereringen av matchprogrammet genomförs. Om genereringen inte genomförs slumpmässigt hamnar spelarna i den ordning som de las in i turneringen.
När du lägger in matchresultat i en turnering är det viktigt att tänka på att resultaten måste stämma överens med en setskillnad som finns i turneringens poängsystem. Ett par exempel: En femsetare kan inte sluta 2-1 i set, och ett set i en ensetsmatch kan inte sluta oavgjort. Vidare måste den angivna ordningsföljden för seten kunna uppstå. Exempelvis kan en spelare inte vinna de två första seten i en tresetsmatch, och förlora det tredje. Det antal poäng som respektive spelare får i en match kan antingen skrivas som heltal eller som decimaltal. Decimaltecknet kan antingen skrivas med ett kommatecken (,), eller med en punkt (.). även negativa tal är tillåtna.
Så till tabellerna för respektive turnering. I tabellerna är spelarna sorterade efter det totala antalet poäng, setskillnaden och antalet vunna set (om turneringens matcher har set), skillnaden mellan vunna och förlorade poäng, samt antalet vunna poäng, i nämnd ordning. Om det är så hårt och jämnt att två eller flera spelare inte går att skilja åt utifrån de här tabellkriterierna slumpas ordningen fram mellan dessa spelare för varje gång som tabellen visas. Av den här anledningen kan man alltså, vilket jag var inne på tidigare, ha tabellen till hjälp för att slumpa fram grupper. För att ordningen på spelarna ska slumpas fram måste det här alltså göras innan några matchresultat för turneringen i fråga är inlagda.
För att inte vem som helst ska kunna vara inne och ändra bland olika turneringsinställningar har det här programmet behörighetskontroller på olika nivåer. För att du ska kunna registrera turneringar måste du vara registrerad som användare i tävlingsregistret. Vilket jag tidigare var inne på har programadministratörer möjlighet att ställa in vilka användare som ska ha rätt att registrera turneringar. Tävlingsregistret kan antingen ställas in så att vem som helst kan registrera sig som användare, eller konfigureras så att det enbart är programadministratörer som kan registrera nya användare. Om vem som helst kan registrera sig syns länken "Registrera dig!" högst upp på sidan. När du registrerar dig ska du ange ett användarnamn och ett alias. Om du inte skriver in något alias blir ditt alias det samma som ditt användarnamn. I nästa avsnitt, "Behörighetskontroller för turneringar", kommer information om begreppet huvudadministratör, samt om vilken funktion aliasen fyller. Både användarnamnen och aliasen måste vara unika - det får alltså inte finnas två identiska användarnamn eller alias i tävlingsregistret. När du registrerar dig måste du också ange en personlig fråga, som bara du vet svaret på, som du kan använda dig av ifall du skulle glömma ditt lösenord. För att registreringen ska kunna genomföras måste du skriva in de siffror som står längst ner i formuläret. Det här systemet är en säkerhetsåtgärd för att minska risken för att spamrobotar "registrerar sig". Observera att när du avregistrerar dig tas automatiskt de turneringar bort som du är huvudadministratör för.
När du har registrerat en turnering blir du automatiskt huvudadministratör för den. Du har då möjlighet att reglera vilka användare som ska kunna redigera din turnering. De användare som du ger rätt att arbeta med din turnering har möjlighet att arbeta med spelare och matcher. De har däremot inte möjlighet att ta bort turneringen, eller att reglera vilka som har rätt att se eller arbeta med turneringen. Av säkerhetsskäl kan du inte låta någon annan användare bli huvudadministratör för turneringen.
För att ge andra användare rätt att redigera din turnering ska du ange deras alias. De användare som du vill ge möjlighet att arbeta med din turnering behöver alltså inte uppge sina riktiga användarnamn till dig, utan de behöver bara tala om sina alias, som används för att ge dem behörighet att redigera andra turneringar än de som de är huvudadministratörer för.
Som standardläge är det möjligt för alla, så väl inloggade som gäster, att se statistik för en turnering som du har registrerat. Det här kan du ändra på - dels i samband med att du registrerar turneringen, och dels när du administrerar turneringen i ett senare skede. Om du begränsar åtkomsten till statistiken för din turnering kan bara de användare som du har gett tillåtelse att redigera turneringen se statistiken för den. Den här inställningen kan bara huvudadministratören för en turnering ändra på.
